the daily prophet

no, we won't be reporting on murders and disappearances (unless you want us to), but we'll be keeping you updated on some equally-as-important information, such as activity checks and character bans. there's also a guest-friendly suggestions subforum located within.

notes & owls

for all those instances when meeting face-to-face would just be too much of a chore, the owl system can help! it's a good way to keep in contact, especially out of school when people don't get to see their friends on a daily basis.

news of the day

in here, journalist characters can write their articles, or post their columns based on what's going on in their particular fields. other characters may comment on the pieces, with their own opinions. remember, this is meant to be in-character news!

hogsmeade, scotland

while it is true that the students and staff at hogwarts are the main source of income for this quaint wizarding community, the village is also home to many permanent residents and is a convenient pit stop for wizards on a mission in the north of the country.

the ministry of magic

the ministry of magic has been through its own ups and downs in its history but, under the leadership of minister shacklebolt, this institution has been restored to its former glory. as the elections approach, however, the citizenry is growing worried, as kingsley has announced that he will not be running for re-election.

diagon alley

the first time harry ever came to this part of london, he wished he could have more eyes so that he could take in all of the splendor. since the end of the second war, this bustling hub of commercial activity has picked up again. in the decades after the war, diagon alley has been built back up to its former glory.

knockturn alley

as diagon alley's darker brother, knockturn certainly lives up to its creepy name. it is a run-down and overall unpleasant place to go, and quite dangerous. you never know when you might be staring at a face you had only previously seen on wanted posters here.

wizarding london

london is the capital city for both the muggle and the wizarding worlds, so it should come as no surprise that wizards have managed to conquer a bit more than some shops in the area. in fact, there are some witches and wizards who live in this city full-time, many of whom are ministry employees.

st. mungo's

essentially, this is one of the few places in the world where you would never want to see the inside of. the healers here are top-notch, but it's often the common desire that their services should not be needed.

muggle london

alas, most of this fine city does indeed belong to the muggles. and while there are still some who would like to see this changed, even after the fall of the death eaters, general opinion is that the two worlds can live peacefully side-by-side.

between england, scotland, wales and ireland, there are plenty of places in the united kingdom for anyone to hide out and scratch a living for himself. and while there are some towns which are mostly wizarding families, most magical homes are amongst muggle ones.

continental europe

just a hop, skip and a broom ride over the channel are all it takes to get to the rest of europe. while the rest of europe was not as affected by the war, some traces still linger on. many believe that bulgaria has become the new haven for dark wizards.
